Create a Project

Projects are containers for managing related risks together.

Before you start

You need an active Lydaro account. Sign up if you haven't already.

Steps

  1. Go to the Dashboard — click the Lydaro logo or navigate to the main dashboard

  2. Click + New Project — found in the top right of the dashboard

  3. Fill in the details:

    • Project Name (required): A clear, descriptive name (e.g., "ERP Migration Programme")
    • Project Code (required): A short unique identifier (e.g., "ERP-2026"). Auto-uppercased.
    • Description (optional): Brief context about the project
    • Start Date (optional): When the project begins
    • End Date (optional): When the project is expected to complete
  4. Click Create project — you'll be taken to the project Risk Register

Tips

Tip: Use consistent naming conventions across projects. For example: "[Programme Name] – [Phase]" or "[Department] [Initiative] [Year]".

Note: Project codes must be unique within your organisation.

Portfolio and Programme classification

If your organisation has configured portfolios or programmes under Settings → Organisation settings → Manage lists, you can classify a project after it is created:

  1. Open the project and click Settings
  2. Under the Classification section, select the Portfolio and/or Programme this project belongs to
  3. Click Save

Classification is used across reporting and roll-ups. If your organisation has not set up portfolio or programme lists, these fields do not appear.

What happens next

After creating a project, you'll be taken directly to the Risk Register. Start by adding your first risk.
