Assess a Risk

Assessing a risk determines its probability and impact, which Lydaro uses to calculate the risk level.

Before you start

You need Editor or Owner role to assess risks.

Steps

1. Open a risk — click on any risk in the Risk Register

2. Click the Assess button — or click into the Assessment section on the risk detail page

3. Select probability — how likely is this risk to occur?

4. Select impact — how severe would the consequences be?

5. Click Save — Lydaro calculates the risk level (High, Medium, or Low) and updates your Quality Score

Inherent vs. residual assessment

You can record both:

• Inherent: Risk level before any response is applied
• Residual: Risk level after your responses are in place

This shows how much your response strategy is reducing the risk.

Assessment history

Every assessment is logged with:

• Date and time
• Assessor's name
• Probability and impact values

This creates an audit trail useful for governance reviews. Download it via Export Reports.
